Our team has evolved from a few key people in the beginning to a broadly based group of engineers and constructors, including 13 licensed Professional Engineers, and 26 LEED Accredited staff members. With an average experience level of over 25 years per person, this is a group that meets today’s construction challenges with enthusiasm and experience.
The biographies of our senior management team are highlighted below.
William E. Higginbotham (Bill), President and CEO of ET Environmental, is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and a LEED Accredited Professional. Bill is responsible for senior technical reviews on all phases of ET’s work, for example, geo/environmental investigations, solid waste planning, and the design and permitting for construction management. He has consulted and directed a wide variety of projects and has also served as expert witness in litigation, and as lead technical negotiator.
Howard L. Szurlinski is Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for ET, joining the company in 1999 as Controller. Howard holds an Associate Degree in Accounting Technology from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, also from the University of Cincinnati. He is responsible for the creation of the Forecasting system currently used by ET.
Michael S. Bice (Mike) is the Executive Vice President for the Western United States. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and holds a BS in Construction Management. Mike has 26 years of construction management experience, including heavy construction, infrastructure, industrial, transportation, solid waste, and remediation construction projects. He has a proven track record for delivering difficult construction projects within budget, time and quality constraints.
As Senior Vice President of Risk Management for ET, Mitchell D. Grady (Mitch) has more than 26 years of experience in construction management. Mitch has worked for some of the nation’s leading builders and developers and has managed projects in excess of $100 million. He has extensive experience in contract management and controls all field operations and administrative aspects of his construction assignments. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska.
Steve Arnold is ET Environmental’s Vice President of Engineering, based out of the Chicago office. Steve is a civil and structural engineer with nearly 20 years of experience. Most recently, he was serving as a Senior Design Manager in charge of Compressed Natural Gas fueling and maintenance facilities across the US and Canada. Steve is frequently asked to speak at industry trade events regarding code compliance for CNG maintenance facilities and authored a Natural Gas for Transportation report used statewide by the Wisconsin State Energy Office.
